Flock and Textpattern
The most attractive feature of Flock is its ability to communicate with your blog. However, I was not able to use this feature because Textpattern was not supported. With the help of a friend, I was able to get things working.
- First, grab the XML-RPC (I believe it is only available for version 4.0) and upload it to your “textpattern” directory – the location where you log in to the admin panel.
- Next, open Flock up to the Blogging Options through “Tools/Options/Blogging” and hit the ”+” button to add your blog.
- Type in your blog address and click next. Flock will hit you with an error message, so click cancel to enter the settings by hand.
- The API should be set to “Movable Type”
- Your Blog ID is just the title of your site
- The access point should point to the location of the the XML-RPC file. (http://yourdomain.com/textpattern/xmlrpcs.php)
- Next, type in your username and password and you’re ready to go.
What’s especially nice about the Blog Editor is that it recognizes the Textpattern sections, so you won’t have to go back into the admin panel to modify that (although I don’t believe there’s an option for categorizing/tagging).

Flock, is a bloggers browser, though it’s tagging feature inserts terrible < font > tags to format the text!
