Money
I am very open about the fact that I like money. I like earning it, saving it, growing it and spending it. I often get into arguments with people who do not repay loans and have a general discomfort of people who cannot effectively manage their finances.
Becoming a doctor has been a lifelong goal for me and this year has been especially exciting as I am finally getting some hands-on (in a sense) experience. When people learn that I am studying to become a doctor, they immediately assume that money was the motivating factor, and up until this semester I had begun to believe them. However, the instant I enter an examination room (hot on the heels of an actual doctor), I feel comfortable, knowledgeable, and excited.
I have a long way ahead of me, but it is comforting to know that I have a deeper motivation. I already feel like a doctor; I simply haven’t learned the required material yet.
Money is a field like medicine: students of money study the economy behind the open interactions just as I study the anatomy behind the easily visible connections. It is therefore difficult to enter another field with the motivation of making money because you become split between learning one subject while seeking another. If you are motivated to earn money, do not shroud it behind a high-paying field simply because it seems to be a socially discouraged area.
Money is priceless.

The thing is, a lot of people don’t seem realise that money is only a means and not the end. There is nothing wrong with liking or disliking money.
Money is power, but having it doesn’t make you better than others – if people realised that, then the world would be a better place.
It is allright if its the means to security, comfort, adventure and great experiences. But when it starts becoming a tool for superiority, I have a problem with it. Money is a wonderful thing, the problem (and solution) is people.

I agree with you Tarun, money can definitely cause some problems. You’re also right about the cause of the problems being our interpretation of it’s use and meaning. Money can create the impression of many things, but if people realized that the “real thing” couldn’t be bought we would have far fewer problems.
Glen: It’s not a coincidence, it’s actually a huge script I made that fishes through your music collection and plays contextual songs :D
