Finals Week
Today was the official end of classes, but the real work has just begun. Beginning tomorrow (yes, on a Saturday), I will scarcely sleep as I finish papers and prepare for my final exams. I actually shouldn’t even be taking this much valuable time because I have a painful Biology Lab Practical bright and early tomorrow morning, but I figured that I should at least let you know since things might be a little quiet over the next week. For some reason, I decided that well over twenty credit hours was a reasonable load and I am beginning to pay the price.
Nevertheless, I am very excited about what has happened so far in my college career and what is coming up. I will be starting a wonderful new job working for my university’s web design team this month and have a very exciting course schedule for next semester including PHI465 – Ancient Philosophy, which should inspire some interesting articles.
Again, I apologize in advance for not posting this week, but I will still be around the comments and in the forum if you need me.
The Pat
It was a feeling of panic beyond any I had experienced in my life. It created an instantaneous cold sweat that quickly began collecting in the small of my back. My heart began racing and I could hear my blood pounding loudly as it passed my ears. It was a sensation that created an almost irresistible urge to curl up in a dark corner…I had lost my PDA.
Luckily, I found my beloved Dell Axim a few minutes later but not before I realized how dependant I had become. My Axim essentially contains my life for the next few weeks and I would have been completely lost without it.
As a result, I now have a methodical “pat” performed whenever I arrive at or leave a location. My particular pat goes counter-clockwise around my waist, moving from the right pocket where I check my cell-phone and keys to the left pocket which houses my PDA and all the way around to my back pockets which contain notes and my wallet.
What’s your pat like?
Philosopher by Degree
I recently started thinking about changing my major to philosophy. I will still follow the pre-medical path towards medical school, but I will also fulfill the requirements for a Major in Philosophy. I’m a few semesters ahead with math, so I will have some extra room in my schedule next semester.
I will be discussing things in-depth with an advisor soon, but I would really like some feedback. This is a decision that will change the rest of my life, and I want to know if a formal academic route is suitable for philosophy. If you need any incentive, how about a free Wordpress.com invite for the most helpful comment…
Washington DC
I actually returned early this morning, but I’ve been awake so long that this entire weekend has blended together. The march was an amazing experience, and I’ve already started planning my next trip.
At the moment, I’m basically running on caffeine because I only got an hour of sleep before being called in to work, and I’ve spent the rest of my time catching up on my studying.
The Washington photoset is up, so have a look if you want.
March on Washington
I’m currently in the final stages of planning my trip to Washington DC for the march to end the war on Iraq. I’m waiting for a confirmation of a couple bus seats, but things should be worked out by Monday.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to take plenty of pictures as I’m planning to do a write-up for the university’s weekly magazine.
Updates coming soon!
