The Pat
It was a feeling of panic beyond any I had experienced in my life. It created an instantaneous cold sweat that quickly began collecting in the small of my back. My heart began racing and I could hear my blood pounding loudly as it passed my ears. It was a sensation that created an almost irresistible urge to curl up in a dark corner…I had lost my PDA.
Luckily, I found my beloved Dell Axim a few minutes later but not before I realized how dependant I had become. My Axim essentially contains my life for the next few weeks and I would have been completely lost without it.
As a result, I now have a methodical “pat” performed whenever I arrive at or leave a location. My particular pat goes counter-clockwise around my waist, moving from the right pocket where I check my cell-phone and keys to the left pocket which houses my PDA and all the way around to my back pockets which contain notes and my wallet.
What’s your pat like?
Philosophy
Beauty
I walked confidently down the spine of the campus, mentally setting my path through the very center and following it regardless of any obstacles. To either side were large buildings, each with a structural, practical beauty that is difficult to describe. A few patches of the road were occupied by small groups, but the majority were staggering to their next class. I walked past one student with a particularly contemplative stare – one that I imagine I wear most of the time, but they passed quickly and I could no longer recall their face. Another student passed me with an uncomfortable stride staring intently at their goal, in this case, Capen Hall. To my left were a pair of girls, recounting an interesting event from the previous night. This is only a snapshot of my day, illustrating the paths, goals, viewpoints, and priorities of my peers.

Philosophy 2.0
It looks like this whole “internet” thing is going to pan out after all, so I’ve decided to hold on to this site. After decades of toil, precisely 3.43 gallons of sweat and an equal amount of coffee, version two of Philosophy is here! I’ve spent quite a bit of time ensuring that everything works properly, but I would appreciate it if you would notify me of any quirks.
The Forum
By far the biggest change is the addition of a new forum. Have a question of your own? Post it in the forum and kick up a debate. I’m hoping that the forum turns into a very active community and I think it’ll be a lot of fun. So go ahead and get registered Don’t worry about registering, just go ahead and start up a good conversation.

Stylegala - Wha' happened? I need my fix!
Live Ideas - It still looks very beta, but it's interesting seeing how Microsoft is thinking. Here's a comprehensive flickr set of the whole thing.
Web 2.5.1 ver 1.344 RC 4.5.2/OS X Beta - The single, greatest "Web 2.0" article I've ever read.
Textpattern 4.0.2 - A much bigger update than the version increment suggests. If you're running Textpattern, I highly suggest you upgrade...the new 404 page templates alone are worth it.
